What I've learned about myself Dec. 23rd, 2007 @ 04:48 pm
This is what I have learned about myself in the past 2 years through therapy, research, and experience (this is the most I've shared about this):

I have Asperger syndrome (high-functioning autism), which is complicated by severe depression. The 2 together make for a very, very complicated existence.

I hope I have helped you understand me better. I know this has been very therapeutic for me to type. Thank you for your very, very patient attention!

My custom text/blurb/that thingie at the side of my journal over there Dec. 22nd, 2007 @ 11:06 pm

In case you're wondering where I got those lovely lyrics, they come from what is, by far, my favorite Christmas carol, if it's the version sung by Evie Tornquist, the gospel artist. (In all fairness, I've never heard it sung by anyone else.)

Here are the lyrics, which are beautiful by themselves; if only you could hear the song, as well.

"One Small Child" (David Meece)
One small child in a land of a thousand
One small dream of a savior tonight
One small hand reaching out to the starlight
One small savior of life.

One king bringing his gold and his riches
One king ruling an army of might
One king kneeling with incense and candlelight
One King bringing us life.

See Him lying, a cradle beneath him
See Him smiling in the stall
See the mother praising His Father
See His tiny eyelids fall.

See the shepherds kneeling before Him
See the kings on bended knee
See the mother praising the Father
See the blessed infant sleep.

One small child in a land of a thousand
One small dream of a savior tonight
One small hand reaching out to the starlight
One small savior of life.

The Celebrity Lusting Meme (modeled loosely after an OKCupid Question) Sep. 23rd, 2007 @ 05:59 am
If you were in a committed, monogamous relationship but had the opportunity for a one-night stand with the most attractive celebrity in the world, would you take it?
-Hell, yes!
-Maybe. It depends on who the celebrity is.
-No. Absolutely not.

How would your ideal significant other answer this question? (You can choose more than one answer.)
-Hell, yes!
-Maybe. It depends on who the celebrity is.
-No. Absolutely not.

How important is your significant other's response to you?
-A little important
-Somewhat important
-Very important

You Tube Pulling a Live Journal Sep. 19th, 2007 @ 12:48 am
20th Century FOX requested that You Tube remove "all material that has not yet been broadcast" from its site. So...what does You Tube do? It pulls all fan vids from its site that have any FOX shows in them.

....Sound familiar?

TV Guide has done an article on this sweep just like they did on the Live Journal one, so...they probably won't get away with it quietly.

I mean, come on guys. BTVS and ATS have been off the air since 2004. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK.

OMFG Music Video! Sep. 13th, 2007 @ 07:05 am
How many people out there have seen the video for "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven? Is that fucking amazing, or what? (If you haven't seen it, you should be able to at http://www.vh1.com/vspot when you click on all music videos. They will have various videos for you to choose from, and that should be one of them. The music is rock that has a very sexual feel to it, but even if you don't like rock music, the interpretive dance in the video is worth the sacrifice. Trust me.)

Buffy Makes TIME Magazine's list of the "100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME." Sep. 8th, 2007 @ 07:32 am
From Whedonesque:
James Poniewozik's list of the top 100 (in no particular order) doesn't contain any other Whedon shows, but Buffy gets a great write-up and clip.

Is anyone else having LJ account breakins? Sep. 8th, 2007 @ 03:08 am
Or am I just lucky?

I seem to have a lot of trouble with this crap, even though, according to my local computer guy, I have more security stuff on my machine than any of his other clients. And, none of it is invalid stuff, either. It's all been recommended to me by either him or other reputable sources. I also have nothing doubling up, which can also cause holes in security.

So...what am I doing wrong, here?

Also, why is it that when I go to make a post using Firefox, my user ID and password shows above every entry, and I'm not allowed to choose my userpic? I have scripts allowed for insanejournal.com....

Mr. Fix It (SPOILERS BEHIND CUT) Sep. 2nd, 2007 @ 12:40 am
I watched Mr. Fix It for the first time today, and can I just say, "Awwww"?

Of course, I always hate any time I get to watch David kissing a lot. YUMMY. He has got to be one of the sexiest kissers out there among actors.... The way he just caresses with his lips.... *goes to la-la land*

Pleasantville Whedonverse Vet Spottings! Aug. 27th, 2007 @ 02:11 am
So, I caught the tale end of the movie Pleasantville this afternoon, and whom should I see?

Marc Blucas (Riley Finn) and Danny Strong (Jonathan)! How about that? It's amazing how many of these supporting-role actors I see in movies together after I get to know them in BTVS and/or ATS. It makes me wonder if they kinda let each other know about what a great person Joss is to work for or how cool BTVS/ATS is or something like that.

Or...maybe it was just coinkidink (that's Popeye talk for coincidence).

Spambox funnies of the day Aug. 20th, 2007 @ 01:43 pm
I decided a while back that, instead of being annoyed with spam, I could be amused with some of the more laughable subject lines--have a laugh at the spammers' expense, rather than them have an annoyance at mine. I thought I might, on occasion, share some of the funny little things I say in my head while glancing through the subject lines...

You can get cheap software directly from the manufacturers! But to keep all the girls really happy, you need to visit the cheap pharmacy. You'll have all the class and still have all your money! You need to update your account with the way they look in the wild because everyone knows that nothing compares to the feeling of having a larger penis!

(everything in bold is an original spam subject line)

Fandom Meme I Saw in nomelon's journal (but these are my answers. LOL) Aug. 20th, 2007 @ 01:31 am
Name 6 fandoms without peeking at the questions under the LJ cut, then fire away, baby!

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Angel the Series
3. Bones
4. Star Wars, the originally released trilogy
5. Star Trek, The Next Generation and beyond (Trekkers, as opposed to Trekkies, though I'm not the kind of sci-fi nerd who is going to correct you if you call me a Trekkie)
6. Lois & Clark, the New Adventures of Superman

I'M NOT GONNA LOSE MY JOB!!! Aug. 19th, 2007 @ 06:42 pm
I just got a reply from my supervisor about me missing 3 nights of work because I slept through them, and he said of course I'm not going to lose my job. They completely understand what's causing it, and they want me to take care of my health first.

GOD, I love this company!

How Emotionally Mature Are You? Aug. 19th, 2007 @ 06:20 pm
You Are 65% Grown Up, 35% Kid

Congratulations, you are definitely quite emotionally mature.
Although you have your moments of moodiness, you're usually stable and level headed.

Not a bad score for someone with Asperger syndrome!

the movie What Women Want Aug. 18th, 2007 @ 07:08 pm
I don't think I could ever see this movie enough times. It is so hilarious! And, you know, Mel Gibson has one of the cutest giggles.... Before I saw James Marsters's giggle, Mel Gibson's absolutely stole my heart. *blush*
